Why did tariff rates increase this year?

While this is the first price rise for residential and small business customers since July 2017, we understand customers are concerned about any increase in the cost of living. We’ll continue in our efforts to keep downward pressure on prices. However, as a publicly owned non-competitive retailer, we’re required to charge the prices set by the independent statutory authority, the Queensland Competition Authority.
