With a range of different pricing structures and demand components, choosing the right electricity tariff for your business can be a real challenge. But it can also make a big difference to your energy costs.
Today, I'll explain how to use the tariff comparison tool to feel confident in choosing the right tariff for your business.
To access the tariff comparison tool, log in to My Account and click the button to launch the Energy Analysis Dashboard. Then, click on the side navigation link to enter the tariff comparison tool. At the top of this page, you'll see a menu that displays your Customer name, Account, and Premise details. If you have more than one premises, use the drop down menu and select the location that you're interested in. The first thing you'll see is a summary of the tariff comparison for that premises. This includes your current tariff, whether you think that this tariff is the most cost effective for your business.
The next section then allows you to make adjustments to the tariff comparison data. Click the box to reveal a full table of your comparison and consumption figures from the last year. You can adjust these figures to reflect any future changes in energy use. You can then click RECALCULATE TARIFFS to see if the recommended tariff has changed. Below this, you'll see a list of tariffs available to you and the projected costs. Depending on the type of meter you have, you might also see some ineligible tariffs listed. You can access a report for tariff comparisons on one or all of your sites. Click on the side navigation link to enter the Reporting tool and select tariffs.

Today I'll show you how the tool works for business with multiple premises. First, you'll need to log into My Account and click the button to launch the Energy Analysis Dashboard. At the top of the page, you'll see an overview of your account details, you can use the Premises drop down to select the location you'd like to explore. While the dashboard gives you the big picture, the links on the left fill in the details.
Click Usage to compare your past and current power use. First, choose the Premises you'd like to compare. Then select a date range, and also how you'd like to display the data. Depending on your billing cycle and metre type. You can then compare your usage, costs and Co2 emissions over time to identify key trends or areas for improvement.
The Demand Profile section uses the same filters but shows how your energy demand changes throughout the day. This section is especially useful if you're on a demand tariff. This is because you can pinpoint peak demand events and work out what drives your demand at those times.
You can also set up automatic alerts that will be triggered by specific events, you can customise your alerts for each of your Premises. The Reports section lets you create custom energy reports for one or several premises. These can be scheduled to send automatically to the contacts of your choice. You can set up your contacts quickly and easily in the Preferences Section.

Ergon Energy's free energy analysis tool can give you powerful insights into your past electricity use. But did you know it can also help you use electricity more efficiently in the future too?
Today, I'll explain to you how you can use alerts to improve your business's energy efficiency. To access your alerts, log in to My Account and click the button to launch the energy analysis dashboard. On the left of the screen, you'll see alerts listed in the navigation side links. You can use the solar export alert to make sure that any solar systems you have are working properly. It will send you a notification whenever a system hasn't exported to the grid in a specific time frame.
You can keep your budget in check with a budget limit alert. This will notify you when your energy use hits a monthly dollar limit. You can also set a budget update alert which will then send you an update in the middle of each month telling you how you are tracking against your set budget. If you using a demand tariff you can then set a maximum demand alert to make sure your site is working cost effectively. You'll be notified when ever you go over your chosen amount threshold in any day. If you're using a seasonal tariff the summer peak time alert will send you a reminder when the peak season is about to start.
And finally you can set an energy use alert and that will notify you whenever you're energy use spike's just set the percentage increase you'd like to watch for.

Today I'll explain how you can download different types of reports. To access your reports, log in to My Account and click the button to launch the energy analysis dashboard. On the left of the screen, you'll see the reporting listed in the side navigation links. The overview report gives you a handy summary of your premises. You can download this report by clicking on the download page and selecting the premises you want to include in the report.
The Excel file you download will show information such as the nmi, account number, address, metre type and the tariff for each premise you have selected. If you want to schedule regular downloads of these or any of the reports available, click on the schedule page. Select which premises you want to include in the report, how often you want the report sent and choose who you want it sent to. Remember you can only send reports to people, if you have added their email address to the contacts page in the preferences section.
The BSUM report gives you a history of your billing information. You can download or schedule these reports. The meter data report contains your meter data, whether it be meter data from a basic or digital metre.
