NSW Low Income Household Rebate
Are you a New South Wales pensioner or health care card holder? You may be able to get an electricity rebate on your bill.
The NSW Low Income Household Rebate helps eligible New South Wales residents with their electricity costs.
The rebate is applied daily and appears on your bill in instalments. The amount you receive each time depends on the number of days in your billing period.
Check if you’re eligible
You may be eligible if:
1: You live in New South Wales
This must be your main home and the only place you’re claiming the rebate for, whether it’s inside or outside New South Wales.
2: You have a retail electricity account
We can help you apply for the rebate if you're an Ergon Energy Retail customer at the address you’re claiming for.
If you’re with another electricity retailer, you’ll need to contact them directly.
If you receive electricity through an on supplied residential community, retirement village or strata arrangement, you’ll need to apply directly to the NSW Government.
3: You hold an eligible card
You’ll need one of the following cards:
- Pensioner Concession Card issued by the Department of Health Services or the Department of Veterans' Affairs
- Health Care Card issued by the Department of Health Services
- Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card issued by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
Commonwealth Seniors Health Card holders aren’t eligible for this rebate.
You can find full eligibility details and more information on the New South Wales Government website.
