A payment plan can give you extra time to pay and peace of mind that your power will stay connected.

Request a payment plan

Online

You can request a payment plan for your current bill quickly and instantly via My Account:

Once you’re in My Account:

  • Head to your dashboard
  • If you’re eligible, you’ll see a ‘Request a payment plan’ button.

You can:

  • Choose a new date to pay your bill in full, or
  • Pay it off in weekly or fortnightly instalments up to your new due date.

It’s instant and easy, and you stay in control.

When you'll need to call us

In some situations, we’ll need to talk to you on the phone to set up or update your payment plan. Please call our regional Queensland team on 13 10 46 if you have:

  • more than two bills outstanding
  • an existing payment plan
  • Direct Debit setup on your account
  • SmoothPay payments you'd like to update
  • received a disconnection notice.

We’re here to help, and we’ll talk through your options.

Home Energy Emergency Assistance Scheme

If you’ve had a significant drop in household income or an unexpected essential expense in the past 12 months, you may be eligible for emergency assistance with your energy bill.

Electricity rebate

You may be able to get help with your electricity costs through the Queensland Government electricity rebate.

The rebate:

  • Is for eligible pensioners, seniors, health care card holders and asylum seekers
  • Is applied daily and paid automatically through your electricity bill.
