Safety Heroes

Safety Heroes primary school education program

For the first time in Queensland, we've introduced Safety Heroes – an educational program to help educate primary school students about how electricity works and how to behave safely around electrical equipment.

The program launched on 24 June and ran during Electricity Safety Week (7 to 11 September 2015) in primary schools throughout regional Queensland in our network area.

Teaching kids safe habits around electricity and electrical equipment at an early age is a smart investment for the future.  Feedback shows that primary school aged children are enthusiastic learners of such practical advice and are often keen to share their lessons at home with mum and dad.

Teaching resources

To assist teachers who are supporting us in delivering these important safety messages, we have developed the Safety Heroes program.  The program provides interactive teaching resources that are aligned to support the curriculum requirements of Queensland schools and will help teachers meet outcomes in the Australian Curriculum for Health and Physical Education for F-6.
