- Using an approved locksmith to secure your meter box or gates
- Using a combination lock and advising us of the combination via our General enquiry form
- Keeping your meter clear of vegetation, insects, vehicles and other equipment
- Moving your meter box if it becomes blocked by new fences or buildings.

You will need to discuss the option of opting-out of a Type 4 smart (digital) meter with your nominated electricity retailer. Another type of metering is available that does not have communications capability. These meters are known as Type 4A digital meters, however are not recommended as many of the benefits of having smart (digital) meters are lost.

Unfortunately, our field staff can only be sure that your dog is restrained by visibly sighting them. If you’ll be restraining your dog out of sight, let your electricity retailer know so they can update your account with the access information for your property.

We’ll do our best to work out if the dog is in your yard using visual clues such as water/food bowls, toys, bones or kennels. However, if we can't be certain, we won’t be able to enter.

Metering Service Charges (MSC) are charges to you for the provision of metering services by us.
The MSC's are not new charges and were previously included in the Supply Charges shown on a your electricity bill.

Type 4 smart (digital) meters, also known as advanced and communications enabled meters, have the ability to take half hourly electricity consumption readings. These metering types also allow two-way communication and can be accessed remotely.

The Supply Charge is associated with the cost to provide and maintain a physical connection to your premise (poles & wires), whereas the Metering Service Charge is associated with the cost to provide and maintain the metering at your premises.
