Clean Energy Offset – Terms & Conditions

1. What is the Clean Energy Offset?

  • The Clean Energy Offset is an optional subscription for eligible business customers (Customer(s)) that allows the Customer to support clean energy generation by engaging us to surrender renewable energy certificates to offset all or part of the Customer’s electricity use.

2. Flexible Subscription

  • The Clean Energy Offset is a subscription service.
  • You can join, change, or cancel at any time by contacting your account manager.
  • Changes or cancellation will take effect from the date agreed by the Provider and the Customer and will be reflected in the Customer’s next bill.

3. Pricing & Rate Changes

  • The Clean Energy Offset is charged at a rate applied to your electricity consumption (or your nominated contribution amount per bill).
  • The rate is dependent on market conditions and may fluctuate over time.
  • We’ll provide at least 30 days’ written notice before any increase to the rate.
  • If you do not agree with a rate change, you can opt out at any time. If we don’t hear from you after 30 days, we will proceed on the basis that you have consented to the rate increase.

4. Billing

  • Your Clean Energy Offset usage and cost will appear on your regular electricity bill.
  • Charges are billed and paid in line with your normal electricity account arrangements.

5. Renewable Energy Certificates

  • We will purchase and surrender Large scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) on your behalf.
  • These certificates support clean energy generation and are not transferred to you.

6. Annual Summary

  • At the end of each financial year, you’ll receive a summary of your Clean Energy Offset total annual electricity consumption and cost. This is also included on current bills.

7. Your Consent

  • Your express informed consent to subscribe to the Clean Energy Offset will be recorded either in writing (e.g. by email) or verbally in a recorded telephone call.
  • By signing up to the Clean Energy Offset subscription, you will be asked to confirm:
    “In electing to set up a Clean Energy Offset account, you are providing us with the authority to charge your nominated contribution amount per bill, and you can cancel or change this at any time by simply contacting us.”

8. Product Changes

  • We may update these terms or withdraw the Clean Energy Offset subscription, if required.
  • We’ll provide reasonable written notice of no less than 30 days if this occurs.
