Seasonal daily use tariffs
Tariff 15 was a seasonal daily usage tariff, developed for potential use under trial conditions.
It was removed from our range of tariff options from 1 July 2019.
It offered a choice of five daily usage bands, which range from 0 kWh to 20 kWh. Each usage band provided a threshold on daily usage within the peak period*, from 4pm to 9pm daily from November to March.
You paid for all electricity usage at a flat rate and a monthly supply charge which aligned with your choice of usage band.
If you exceeded your peak period usage band threshold on any day during November to March, a surcharge was applied for the difference between your band threshold and your highest day's actual peak period usage. All rates included GST.
For example on Band 2, if you used 7 kWh during the peak period on one day during the month, you would pay the surcharge on 2 kWh, which is the difference between 7 kWh and your band threshold of 5 kWh. If you used 7 kWh on one day and 8 kWh on another day during the peak period in the same month, you would pay the surcharge on 3 kWh, which is the difference between your highest day's peak period usage 8 kWh and your band threshold of 5 kWh.
You must have remained on your selected usage band for at least 12 months before you could change to a lower usage band. Moves to a higher usage band were permitted at any time.
*Peak period: 4pm-9pm daily, November-March.
