This information forms the general eligibility criteria for the Energy Resource Register $50 cashback.
Limits on cashback incentive payments
Applications may be made for Eligible Battery Storage Systems, with only one cashback incentive (Incentive) to the value of $50 available per Battery Storage System Connection Agreement.
Applications must be submitted to Ergon Energy by 1 January 2020.
Notwithstanding the above, Ergon Energy reserves the right to alter, terminate or extend the Initiative at any time prior to 1 January 2020. No Incentive will be payable in respect of any Application Forms submitted after the termination of the Initiative.
Eligibility for incentive
The Applicant must:
be aged 18 years or older;
be either the registered owner of the Property or the occupier of the Property and have obtained the owner of the Property’s consent to submit an Application Form;
have an Eligible Battery Storage System installed at the Property;
have a Battery Storage System Connection Agreement; and
complete the online Application Form.
The decision whether an Incentive is payable will be made by Ergon Energy in its absolute discretion by reference to the criteria in clause 1 above following receipt of a correctly completed online Application Form. The Applicant acknowledges that, notwithstanding the submission of a properly completed the Application Form, Ergon Energy gives no guarantee of entitlement to an Incentive.
Payment of incentive
Where Ergon Energy determines that an Applicant is eligible for an Incentive, payment of the Incentive will occur by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to the bank account nominated by the Applicant. The Distributor may refuse to pay the Incentive if the Incentive has previously been paid in respect of the Eligible Battery Storage System under the Initiative.
The Applicant agrees that:
Ergon Energy may reject any Application Form that is incomplete, not signed or not supported by a relevant Battery Storage System Connection Agreement or which Ergon Energy has reason to believe is inaccurate or fraudulent;
Ergon Energy may make enquiries or audit any Application Form or Eligible Battery Storage System installation to determine whether the Incentive is payable;
Ergon Energy may require repayment of the Incentive if any information contained in the Application Form is not true and correct; and
Ergon Energy shall not be responsible for, and the Applicant releases Ergon Energy to the full extent permitted by law for liability in respect of any works carried out for the purposes of submitting an Application Form, including but not limited to all costs for such works incurred by the Applicant in connection with the Application Form.
Ergon Energy is collecting, using and disclosing your personal information for the purpose of conducting this Initiative and for the National Energy Resource Register initiative. You consent to the use of your personal information as set out in the Application for the purposes of this Initiative, the National Energy Resource Register initiative and for similar initiatives that may be conducted by Ergon Energy or any of its related bodies corporate, the Queensland Government and/or your local government council, the Australian Government and Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). If you do not provide your personal details, you may, at Ergon Energy’s discretion, not be eligible to participate in the Initiative to receive an Incentive. “Applicant” means the person submitting the application (“Application Form”) for an Incentive.
“Battery Storage System Connection Agreement” means an executed and current Embedded Generation Network Connection Agreement in respect of the Eligible Battery Storage System entered into with Ergon Energy.
“Eligible Battery Storage System” means a battery of any chemistry type which (i) has a capacity of greater than 1 kWh; (ii) has an AS4777 compliant inverter system that is less than 30 kVA; and (iii) is connected to an electricity distribution network in Ergon Energy's distribution area in Queensland (which includes Mount Isa and isolated systems).
“Ergon Energy” means Ergon Energy Corporation Limited (ABN 50 087 646 062) and any successor in title.
“Initiative” means Ergon Energy’s Energy Resource Register Incentive Program which is a short-term Queensland based scheme to support the future implementation of the National Energy Storage Register initiative.
“National Energy Resource Register” means the national register of energy storage data initiative proposed by the COAG Energy Council.
“Property” means any property within Ergon Energy’s electricity distribution network area in Queensland that has an Eligible Battery Storage System installed onsite and connected to the network.
