Bright sparks hoping for a career in the electrical industry have less than two weeks left to apply for Ergon Energy’s 2017 apprenticeship intake.

Ergon Energy Chief Operating Officer Roslyn Baker said 65 apprentice placements are on offer at more than 20 locations across Queensland.

“We have always strived to get the best of the best into our apprentice scheme and we’ve been very successful over the years creating really important career paths for hundreds of men and women from diverse backgrounds and communities.”

“It is always exciting to welcome new apprentices into the industry as they take the first steps in their careers.”

Ms Baker said a rigorous recruitment process would ensure selected candidates had the qualities and skills necessary to be part of Ergon Energy’s workforce.

“Ergon Energy needs people who can drive and support innovation across a range of areas so we can provide safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable energy solutions for our customers,” She said.

“Our apprentice intake in 2017 will be important for our company’s future as we continue to work closer with Energex under the banner of Energy Queensland.”

The advertised positions will include roles for Apprentice Electrotechnology Electricians, Communications Technicians, Mechanical Fitters and Electrical Distribution Linespersons.

Applications for the new apprentice intake close on Monday 24 October and can be made online at https://www.ergon.com.au/about-us/careers/apprenticeships .
