Cash back offer conditions

The information contained in this section forms the eligibility criteria for the Tariff 33 Cash Back Offer and the 5-Star Pool Pump Cash Back Offer. In order to qualify for a Cash Back Offer, applicants must fully comply with all the eligibility requirements in these guidelines.

Final decisions regarding Cash Back Offer eligibility will be made by Ergon Energy.

General

  1. As the applicant, you must:
    a. Own or occupy a residential Premises within the Ergon Energy electricity distribution network area that has a permanently installed in-ground or above-ground swimming pool. Spas and spa pumps are not eligible.
    b. Allow Ergon Energy access to your residence to assess your application and eligibility if required.  Ergon Energy may in its absolute discretion not accept an application for a Cash Back Offer if it is concerned with its legitimacy.
  2. Applications must be made using an Application form, accompanied by a photocopy of the tax invoice / proof of purchase which clearly states that you have purchased the applicable goods or services.
  3. Cash Back Offer payments are not available as a point of sale discount or payable directly to service providers or retailers.
  4. Cash Back Offer payments will be made by cheque only and will be made payable to the person or organisation identified as the purchaser on the Application Form and invoice / proof of purchase.
  5. Ergon Energy reserves the right to alter the Offer Conditions at any time at its discretion.
  6. Applicants may be required to repay any Cash Back Offer amounts paid if any of the Offer Conditions are found to have been breached.
  7. By law, electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrical contractor. For your own safety, you should not alter or attempt your own electrical or plumbing work on any of your appliances. If you do not employ a qualified and licensed person to install your Pool Pump, please make yourself aware of the impacts this may have on the manufacturer’s warranty.
  8. In no circumstances will Ergon Energy be liable for any loss, damages, loss of profit, revenue, business reputation or opportunity which may be sustained by you in relation to the actual or purported implementation of any energy saving device or Ergon Energy’s rejection of any Cash Back Offer applications.
  9. Ergon Energy is collecting and using your personal information for the purposes of assessing your Cash Back Offer application and to provide Cash Back Offer payments to successful applicants. If you do not provide all of the required personal information we may not be able to assess your Cash Back Offer application. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any third parties, unless authorised or required by law. You are entitled to access any personal information that Ergon Energy holds about you by contacting us on 13 10 46. Ergon Energy’s privacy policy is available at ergon.com.au.

Tariff 33 cash back offer

  1. Between 1 September 2011 and 30 June 2012, the Tariff 33 Cash Back Offer of up to $350 is available for connecting your Pool Pump to Tariff 33. If the costs incurred are less than $350 then only the amount paid will be reimbursed. Completed applications must be received by Ergon Energy no later than midnight on 31 July 2012. Late applications or additions/amendments to existing applications will not be accepted.
  2. If you are not the Electricity Account holder or authorised representative at the Premises, you must have permission from the account holder at this address to connect the pool pump to Tariff 33.
  3. The Tariff 33 Cash Back Offer is only available for residential customers that have not previously received a 5-Star Pool Pump Cash Back Offer payment. Limit one per premises.
  4. Premises that are commercial, industrial or business locations do not qualify.
  5. Your Tariff 33 Cash Back Offer payment will only be made after the electricity supply to the Pool Pump has been converted to Tariff 33 and your application has been received, validated and approved. This may take around 4 to 6 weeks.

5-star pool pump cash back offer

  1. Between 1 September 2011 and 30 June 2012, the 5-Star Pool Pump Cash Back Offer of $250 is available for purchasing an eligible 5-Star Pool Pump.  Completed applications must be received by Ergon Energy no later than midnight on 31 July 2012. Late applications or additions/amendments to existing applications will not be accepted.

  2. The 5-Star Pool Pump Cash Back Offer is only available for customers that have not previously received a Tariff 33 Cash Back Offer payment. Limit one per premises.

  3. Pool Pumps that are second-hand or have second-hand component parts are not eligible.

  4. Your 5-Star Pool Pump Cash Back Offer payment will only be made after you have purchased your 5-Star Pool Pump and your application has been received, validated and approved. This may take around 4 to 6 weeks.

Definitions

5-Star pool pump means a pool pump that is rated as 5-star or higher under the Voluntary Energy Rating Labelling Program for swimming pool pumps under the Australian Government’s Equipment Energy Efficiency (E3) program.

Application Form means the form available online at ergon.com.au which is used to apply for a Cash Back Offer.

Cash Back Offer means the Tariff 33 Cash Back Offer and/or the 5-Star Pool Pump Cash Back Offer.

Customer, You, Your, Applicant means the person who applies for a Cash Back Offer and agrees to the Offer Conditions.

Electricity Account means the electricity sale contract between Ergon Energy and the Customer.

Ergon Energy, We, Us, Our means Ergon Energy Corporation Limited ABN 50 087 646 062, and its subsidiaries, its employees, contractors and agents.

Offer Conditions means the conditions upon which Ergon Energy makes the Cash Back Offers available.

Pool Pump means a swimming pool filtration system used only for the purposes of filtration and associated sanitation in domestic installations.

Premises means a premises with a permanently installed in-ground or above-ground swimming pool that is owned or occupied by the Applicant.

Tariff 33 means a controlled supply tariff that is made available for a minimum of 18 hours per day as specified in the tariff schedule in the Queensland Government Gazette.
