Ergon
Energy owns and operates 33 isolated power stations. Click
here to view them on a map. These power stations provide electricity
to communities in Western Queensland, Gulf of Carpentaria, Cape York,
various Torres Strait Islands, as well as Palm and Mornington Islands,
which are isolated and too remote for connection to the state electricity
grid.
Ergon Energy's Network Generation section is responsible for:
- Planning for isolated power stations
- Developing and maintaining the operational, design and construction
standards for isolated power stations
- Developing maintenance plans, policies and work instructions
for isolated power stations

with the next four largest sites 1-2MW installed capacity
and the rest in the order of 300-1000kW.
