- Electrical Engineering - Electrical Engineering Graduates have the opportunity to work in a variety of important areas, such as, network protection, network planning, field work and network generation, and transmission and project services. Program structure
The focal point of the Graduate Program is a three-year rotational plan that allows you to experience various business divisions in different geographic locations. Travel to various parts of regional Queensland could see you posted to major centres including Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, and Toowoomba. These rotations expose you to a wide variety of people, roles and environments, helping you to expand your network and really understand our business.
Once you start work
So, what exactly happens when you first start work in the Graduate Program at Ergon Energy?
Firstly you will be assigned your mentor. This person is specifically selected for you and will be able to give you support, informal advice and guidance to help you optimise your time as an Ergon Energy graduate.
We then set up a tailored development plan to give you clear direction on what we are committed to helping you achieve while on the program. A new plan is established for each rotation. No matter what discipline you have studied, or what area of the business you are working in, Ergon Energy's Graduate Program offers you accelerated development.
Not only do we provide access to post-graduate studies and the support to achieve chartered status with an appropriate institution, you will also be given training in the core leadership skills we believe you will need to help you become one of our future leaders.

And you will never feel alone. We have a dedicated Graduate Program Team who can answer any questions you have and you will also be given many opportunities to meet and network with your fellow graduates, both new and "well-seasoned". Our past graduates can teach you the ropes and let you know how to get the best out of your program.
At the end of the program
With all the experience and insight into Ergon Energy you gain throughout your program, you will know exactly where your passion lies. At the end of your program, you have the opportunity to apply for any available roles within Ergon Energy for which you are qualified and feel will extend your career and development.
If you don't find a role that really interests you, you aren't left out in the cold. We will place you into a meaningful role until that "dream Ergon Energy job" comes up.
