When your mum or dad needs to buy a new appliance, like a fridge, you can teach them how to be more energy efficient by checking the star or energy rating of the selected appliance.

The number of stars on the label indicates just how energy efficient the appliance is - when compared to appliances of similar capacity. The number on the label indicates how many kilowatt-hours (kWh) the appliance will use in one year when tested in accordance with Australian Standards. The lower this number, the less you'll spend on the power to run that appliance and the more energy we will save!
