REFRIGERATOR SAVERS
To ensure door seals are working efficiently, here's a test you can do at home:
- Place a piece of paper between the door seal and the door
- If the paper moves in and out easily, the seal isn't working
- Ask mum or dad to adjust the door as this may solve the problem. If it doesn't, the seal should be replaced.
Don't place your fridge against a wall that's exposed to direct sunlight. Similarly, keep a space between the fridge and the wall oven or stove.
Freezers should be defrosted regularly - the frost build up inside your freezer should never exceed a thickness of 6mm. A fuller freezer prevents heavy icing.
You can save energy by thinking about what you want - before you open the door!
