When the weather starts to cool in some parts of Queensland, we all want to start using our heaters again. But, before turning the heater on, close the curtains, check for drafts and dress appropriately for the weather. You'll save more energy by only heating the most commonly used rooms and trap warm air by closing windows and doors.

Remember to set reverse cycle air conditioners or heaters to 18°C to be the most energy efficient and comfortable.

When mum or dad want to purchase a new heater, you can play your part by asking them to choose the most energy efficient size and type.
