Does your kitchen have a fan-forced oven? Cooking food in a fan-forced oven will reduce cooking time and energy use.
Use pots and pans with snug-fitting lids and flat bases that stay in contact with the heat surface. The base of the pot should be the same size as the hotplate.
Think twice before you use the stove to boil water or toast bread. For small jobs, use electric kettles, toasters, grills and skillets.
Is your fridge door dirty and mouldy? Clean door seals regularly and check for signs of wear or damage. Flat or split door seals should be replaced.
