WATER AND ELECTRICITY
Water and electricity do not mix. Bathroom, laundry and swimming pool areas are particularly dangerous, because water is an excellent conductor of electricity. An electric shock can be more serious if you have bare feet and wet skin.
Remember never to touch electrical appliances or switches with wet hands.
If you see mum or dad using electrical equipment in the laundry or outdoors, check to see if they are wearing rubber-soled shoes for safety.
Disconnect appliances after use. Never leave a hair dryer or shaver plugged into a power point - it could fall into the bath or basin. But remember, there is a right way and a very wrong way to pull cords out of power points. Check with mum or dad to make sure you use the right way!
Keep electrical appliances away from swimming pools. In a pool, an electric shock as small as 2 volts, which would only be able to power a very small toy, is enough to cause severe cramping or drowning.
