POWERLINES
Beware of fallen powerlines. Accidents or high winds and flying debris in storms can cause damage to overhead powerlines and bring them down. Take care after the event, especially when cleaning up.
Always assume every fallen powerline is 'live' (still has electricity running though it) and potentially dangerous. Stay well away, warn others and call triple zero (000) or 13 16 70 immediately.
If mum or dad is moving equipment and ladders around your yard, be aware of overhead powerlines! This includes cleaning and painting, planting or pruning trees, cleaning pools, moving boats, farming equipment and heavy machinery.
Also, don't fly kites or model aeroplanes near overhead powerlines. Find a park with lots of open area.
