Make sure mum or dad take care with portable electric tools. It's a good idea to have a safety switch installed on your switchboard, or use a portable safety switch for added safety (see Safety Switches for more information).

When you are digging in the garden, it is best to know where underground cables are in order to avoid striking them.

If you ever see somebody trimming trees near powerlines, be safety smart and tell them to be careful. It would be best if they did not attempt to trim trees near powerlines, but rather call a professional tree removal contractor to trim any vegetation that may be close to powerlines.
