FESTIVE LIGHTING

During the Christmas period, many families like to decorate their homes and gardens with fairy lights and decorative pieces. In order to stay safe, remember to follow these rules:

• Ensure a safety switch is installed in your main switchboard, or use a portable safety switch for festive lighting.
• Turn off festive lighting when changing light bulbs, when it's raining or when your family is leaving the house or going to bed.
• Use powerboards fitted with overload protection, not double adapters and remember, don't piggyback plugs.
• Read instructions before using lights and ensure the lights are suitable for their specific use, either indoor or outdoor.
