Combine
a great career and lifestyle with one of Australia's largest and
most progressive energy companies. At Ergon Energy, we power 97%
of Queensland, and have recently committed $4 billion to an investment
program focussing on maintaining and upgrading the electricity network.
We value innovation and openness, while also creating a highly
ethical, safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
You can help us to achieve our vision of being 'a world-class,
customer-driven energy business'. Working within a dynamic
team environment, you will be exposed to challenges and opportunities
which enable all employees to contribute directly to our success
as a company.
Terms and Conditions of Employment
The terms and conditions of employment at Ergon Energy are contained
in the Ergon Energy Union Collective Agreement 2008. The Agreement is an
important milestone in Ergon Energy's continuing evolution as an
employer of choice in the national energy market. The Agreement
provides enhanced benefits and working conditions to reflect the
specific needs of the business and enables us to improve our ability
to attract and retain staff at a time when there is significant
competition within the energy market for skilled people.
With an extensive program of capital works and maintenance planned
for the next five years, Ergon Energy faces significant challenges.
The Agreement offers our employees a comprehensive range of benefits
and conditions which reflect their substantial contribution towards
meeting these challenges and continuing to provide excellent service
to our customers.
Life Balance
Ergon
Energy knows it is important that our people maintain a life balance,
and we provide opportunities that enable employees to organise their
working arrangements in a flexible way that supports this balance,
subject to operational needs. Opportunities include:
- The ability to purchase additional Annual Leave;
- Provision of Special Leave Without Pay;
- Provision of Emergency Leave Without Pay;
- Working from home;
- Transition to Retirement Arrangements; and
- Job Share arrangements.
Diversity
Ergon Energy aims to be a diversity leader in the energy sector by providing an inclusive workplace in which everyone has the opportunity to fully participate and is valued for their skills, experiences and perspectives.
Ergon Energy recognises that people from different backgrounds can bring fresh ideas. By sharing experiences we learn new ways of working, making us more efficient and our products and services more valued.
Code of Conduct
It
is a fundamental principle within Ergon Energy that all business
affairs are conducted legally, ethically and with a strict observance
of the highest standards of integrity and propriety. The Ergon Energy
Code of Conduct is based on that principle. The standard of conduct
expected from all employees is set out in the Code, together with
examples of acceptable and unacceptable behaviour. Areas of behaviour
covered in the Code include:
- Working environment;
- Use of property;
- Confidentiality of information;
- Conflict of interest; and
- Fraud.
The company actively encourages the reporting of unlawful or unethical
behaviour, and has in place a confidential service - FairCall - through
an independent provider, KPMG. It provides a highly visible channel
for employees to report, in complete confidentiality, any suspected
fraud, acts of unethical conduct or breaches of policy. The FairCall
service reflects the principles embodied in "whistle blower"
protection standards and ensures fairness for all concerned.
