As a company that delivers power to 97% of Queensland, manages an asset base of $7.7 billion and employs over 4,000 people, Ergon Energy is an outstanding company to work for, particularly for people considering starting a career in the electricity industry. We recruit a significant number of apprentices each year, many of whom progress on to become integral members of our dynamic team.
An apprenticeship with Ergon Energy is never dull. You may join us in one location, but you’ll travel throughout Queensland during the Apprenticeship Program, to experience a range of task environments and attend off-the-job blocks of training. An Ergon Energy apprenticeship is an attractive alternative to tertiary studies, with your career (and pay cheque) starting from day one. It can also be the first step along an exciting career path and it gives you the opportunity to meet your career goals, while maintaining a balance of work and leisure.
Apprentice Recruitment Program
Apprenticeships are offered in a number of locations throughout Queensland each year in a range of trade types.
An apprenticeship is structured as a four-year program of on-the-job experience, supported by training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), such as a TAFE college to cover the theory components of the trade.
We offer extensive support to our apprentices to assist them in their training and on-the-job performance.
To enable you to gain more information about our apprenticeships, you may like to meet some of our apprentices and hear their stories.
An apprenticeship can be the first step in an onward career path.
