Cost Allocation Method (1 July 2010)

The National Electricity Rules (NER) govern the regulation of Ergon Energy's network charges. Network charges are those tariffs that Ergon Energy can charge for allowing customers and generators to access our distribution system and for the conveyance of electricity through that system. One of the tasks of the regulator is to ensure that Ergon Energy's costs are prudent and efficient and are applied appropriately when developing network tariffs.

Ergon Energy's Cost Allocation Method (CAM) (PDF 203kb) has been approved by the AER and has applied since 1 July 2010. It will ensure that our regulated charges do not attract more than their fair share of Ergon Energy's business costs and will be applied in the preparation of Ergon Energy's Regulatory Proposal to the AER. It should be noted that the CAM process is different to the process used to specifically develop network tariffs for the next regulatory control period.
