Ergon Energy will be taking to the skies next week (Monday 16/1/12) to carry out helicopter inspections of the main high voltage line between Proserpine and Bowen.
Area Operations Manager Chester Brodie said the work was part of a preventative maintenance program to identify any potential problems that may impact on reliability of supply to customers in the area.
“The aerial inspection will commence at 8am at the Proserpine substation and follow the line route through Foxdale and Myrtlevale before traversing along the Bruce Highway through Gregory River to approximately Debella where it will include.”
The inspection is expected to take the majority of the day.
“As the inspection will involve low level flying and inspection of pole top infrastructure, we would advise property owners to secure stock during this time so they don’t become startled. We will of course take every precaution to limit any inconvenience on the community” Mr Brodie said.
He thanked affected customers in advance for their understanding and tolerance while this work is carried out.
